Week 17

(12-20-07) Final 12:30-3:30pm, 105 Northgate. Note that the exam will start at 12:30pm sharp (no 10 min. delay).
(12-19-07) Elad will hold office hours today from 4:00pm to 5:00pm.
(12-18-07) Elad will hold a review session today from 3:30pm to 5:00pm in 550 Cory Hall.

Week 16

Elad will hold review sessions from 3:30-5:00pm on Mon. 12-17 and Tues. 12-18 in 550 Cory Hall.
The final exam will be held from 12:30-3:30pm on Thurs. 12-20 at 105 Northgate.
Eric's office hours for this week have been moved to Mon. 4-5pm.

Week 15

(12-4-07) We will be filling out the HKN surveys during the last 10-15 minutes of class, so please be sure to attend lecture today.
Homework 9 (optional) with practice problems (and solutions) for the final has been posted.
Monday's discussion session for this week has been cancelled. The discussion sessions this Fri. and next Mon. (12-10) will review the material from the first half of the course in preparation for the final exam.

Week 14

Project updates:
- Reminder: In addition to turning in a printed copy of your project report, you should email an electronic copy of your report, poster, and final netlist and simulation deck to ee141-project@bwrc.eecs.berkeley.edu
- The due date for the final project report has been extended to Thurs. 11-29 at 3:30pm. In other words, you can now turn your report in along with your poster.
- As an example, we have posted a project poster from Fall 2006 here. Note that the format of this poster (and the goals of the project) are slightly different, so this should serve only as a general point of reference.
(11-27-07) Please be sure to attend lecture today as we will be holding a discussion on the project results/status so far.

Week 13

(11-22-07) Elad will hold office hours today from 10:30am to 11:30am to give advice and answer questions on the project.
Project phase 3 update:
- The report template and instructions for creating your poster have been posted.
Eric's office hours for this week and next will be moved to Monday 6-7pm.

Week 12

Project phase 3 updates:
- The peripheral circuits are now available in ~ee141/project/peripheral/
- The power measurement SPICE deck is now available at ~ee141/project/power_meas/power.sp
Homework 8 Corrections:
- There were a couple of omissions in the original HW#8 handout ( specifically, in problems 1)b) and 2)b) ). A version has been posted, so please be sure to download it.
(11-14-07) Project phase 3 has been posted.
- Note that some of the cells and SPICE decks we will be providing for this phase of the project are not available yet. We will post an announcement here and on the newsgroup as soon as they are ready.
Homework 8 is due on Tuesday, 11/20. Drop box in 240 Cory (Student Lounge).

Week 11

(11-8-07): There was a bug related to netlisting from the schematics in the standard cells provided with Phase II of the project - please recopy the standard cells from the ~ee141/project/adder_blocks directory.
(11-8-07): Elad's office hours for today have been shifted to 10:30-11:30am.
(11-6-07) Midterm2 6:30-8:00pm, 105 Northgate. Note that the exam will start at 6:30pm sharp (no 10 min. delay).

Week 10

Project phase 2 has been posted, and is due on Tuesday, 11/13. Drop box in 240 Cory (Student Lounge).
An updated version of lecture 20 with the typos pointed out in lecture corrected has been posted.
(11-1-07): Elad will hold extra office hours today from 5-6pm (immediately after class).
(10-31-07): The midterm review session will be held tonight from 6:00-7:30pm in 150 GSPP.
(10-29-07): Elad will hold extra office hours today from 1-2pm.

Week 9

Week 8

Homework 7 is due on Thursday, 10/25. Drop box in 240 Cory (Student Lounge).
Homework 6 Clarification:
- For problems 3)c) and 3)d), you should calculate the delay from A or B transitioning to Out transitioning (i.e., you should include the delay components due to the wire).
(10-17-07): Eric's office hours today have been moved to 5:30-6:30pm (still in 353 Cory).
(10-15-07): Today's discussion has been moved to Mon. 5:30-6:30pm.
No labs this week. However, the GSIs will post on the newsgroup 20 min time slots where they will be in the lab for you to hand in your hardware lab write-ups.

Week 7

Homework 6 is due on Thursday, 10/18. Drop box in 240 Cory (Student Lounge).
The midterms have been graded and will be returned at the beginning of lecture on Tues. (10-9). Afterwards, you can pick up your exam from Therese George (253 Cory).
The discussion session on Mon. (10-8) will cover the problems from the midterm exam.
The hardware lab is this week.

Week 6

(10-3-07): Elad will hold extra office hours today from 3:30-4:30pm.
You can pick up your graded HW#3 from Elad's office until lecture on Thurs. Afterwards, Therese George (253 Cory) will have all of the graded homeworks.
(10-2-07): Elad will hold extra office hours today from 10-11am.

Homework 5 Clarifications:
- For problem 1.b), you should assume that C_G = 1.5fF/um.
- For all of problem 3, you can ignore the power consumption due to short-circuit current.

Week 5

Homework 5 is due on Thursday, 10/4. Drop box in 240 Cory (Student Lounge).
- If you complete HW5 before 10am next Tues. (10-2), Elad will be holding an extra office hour from 10-11am where you can submit your completed homework and look at the solutions. Elad will also hold his normally scheduled office hours from 11am-12pm that day, as well as another extra office hour on Mon. (10-1) from 10am-11am.
Homework 4 Clarification: For part c) of problem 1), you should use Beta=2 (i.e., the same inverter you analyzed in part a) of the problem)
(9-25-07): Elad's office hours for Tues. (9-25-07) have been moved to 10am-11am for this week.

Week 4

An updated version of lecture #8 with a few typos corrected (mostly related to subthreshold current) has been posted.
